Hi, my name is Reinhard Marschall, and since December 2012, I have been the head chef at Gartenhotel Crystal.
Cooking has been my passion for more than 20 years. After graduating, I developed my skills for example in Switzerland, in the Bermudas, and in New Zealand. Along with the kitchen team at Gartenhotel Crystal, I pamper guests everyday with regional treats. I use many ingredients from our own garden, which provides an abundance of ingredients for every season.
Along with golf, I have an interest in model railroads. At home, I have a model landscape over ca. 12m2 constructed in accordance with the most minute details. Over 60 locomotives and more than 200 railroad cars are part of my collection.
An excursion on the Zillertalbahn
Therefore, it is not unusual that I will take my family on a ride on the nostalgic steam train of the Zillertalbahn. The steam train runs once daily from Jenbach to Mayrhofen. We board the train in Fügen and with good weather, enjoy a fantastic view of the Zillertal in the "open wagon". The crystal wagon, studded with 62,000 Swarovski crystals, provides a fairytale-like ambiance.
A special adventure for me is to be an amateur train driver on the Zillertalbahn. This is a dream come true for me once a year. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to give the signal and then feel the rattling of the tracks. This is an opportunity you shouldn't miss.
